Clinical / Sports Massage

All massage treatments begin with a full and detailed medical and lifestyle consultation to allow me to build up an holistic profile of who you are. We will discuss your goals for the treatment whether it be pain relief or relaxation and the massage will be tailor made to meet the outcome you desire.

When treating pain conditions I will carry out assessments in the form of specialised orthopaedic testing, range of movement and postural observations as well as palpation of the problem area.

This thorough assessment enables me to plan effective treatments to achieve your goals. During the Clinical Massage treatment I will use a variety of techniques that I believe will bring about the best outcome, these will include:

- Deep Tissue Massage
- Trigger Point Therapy
- Myofascial Release [MFR]
- Soft Tissue Release
- Sports Massage Stretching Techniques- Passive, PNF, AIS
- Swedish Massage
- Acupressure
- Table Thai
- Shiatsu
- Craniosacral
- Hot & Cold Stones

The massage will end with some “still” work to allow the body to absorb the treatment and then we will discuss homecare eg. Stretches to enhance the work carried out.

For pain conditions both chronic and acute my aim with Clinical Massage is to reduce your pain within 6 regular treatments.

Conditions I have found my techniques helpful with

- Back Pain
- Hip & Pelvis Pain

“The most professional service I have encountered in 35 years of back problems, someone who listens and understands chronic pain, who maintains my back and at the age of 65 enables me to continue working in the building industry.”

- Gary from Sidcup

“Most recently I visited Jackie with a knee injury, which my GP had dismissed, but that was preventing me walking any distance comfortably. After several treatments from her, I can not only walk without fear of pain, but also have a greater understanding of how to protect my knee in the future.”
